On Monday, August 22, 2022 Menard County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Burl Hagler and Sergeant Ty Gerstenberger, along with Sheriff Buck Miller were following up on information received about a wanted subject’s possible location. Chief Deputy Hagler and Sergeant Gerstenberger went to 310 Wilkinson Street to speak to the owner of the residence. As a result of the Criminal Apprehension Investigation, the owner of the residence, Quintin Edward Speck was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone less than 1 gram a 3rd Degree Felony and Possession of Marijuana in a Drug Free Zone less than 2 ounces a Class A Misdemeanor. Ryan Wade Armstrong of Menard was also arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone less than 1 gram a 3rd Degree Felony and charged with Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility a 3rd Degree Felony. Both Speck and Armstrong were booked into the Menard County Jail. The above information was submitted by Menard County Sheriff’s Office.
As of press time the Sheriffs Office had not yet responded to a Menard News request for information on their recent apprehension of wanted Menard resident Carey Thomas “Tommy” Sherrod. According to the Menard County Sherriff’s Office Facebook page post on August 17, Sherrod had an active felony warrant for burglary of a habitation. The page reported Sherrod as “arrested” on August 27, 2022. There was a Crimestoppers reward of $1,000 for information given that would lead to Sherrod’s arrest; however no further information was given. We will update this story as more details are released.
