Doris Julia Calhoun Hurst, age 94, peacefully passed away on November 8th, 2022. She was born January 15th, 1928, to Christopher Columbus & Georgia Ella Calhoun.
She is preceded by her beloved husband Edward and seven brothers and one sister.
She is survived by daughters Jane Hunt of Fort McKavett TX and Gayle Hurst Stone (Frankie) of Lockhart TX. Grandson, Jonathan Hunt, and great-grandsons Austin & Trevor, all of Louisville, Kentucky.
Doris will be remembered as a loving mother and homemaker.
Pallbearers are Brice Knight, Brice Knight II, Jonathan Hunt, Stewart Wilson, Barbra Puckett, Troy Knight, Tony Tankerly, David Calhoun, and honorary pallbearer Alton Knight. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Friday, November 11, at Heritage Funeral Home – Menard. A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, November 12, at Youngs Prairie Cemetery in Elgin TX.
