The Regular Meeting of Menard City Council was called to order by Mayor Barbara Hooten at 5:30 P.M.,
July 12th, 2021 with the following member present:
Mayor: Barbara Hooten, Councilman: Dean Mayhew, Councilman: Tyler Wagner, Councilwoman: Collyn Wright Gainer, City Administrator: Don R. Kerns, City Secretary: Dorcy M. Swindall
Called to order – 5:31 P.M.
All council was present with the exception of Councilwoman: Hough
Guest Include: PRC & MHC Members; CeeCee and Terry Kelley. Other visitors include, Meredith Kelley, and David Kelley of El Paso Texas.
Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation – Given by Mayor Hooten
Minutes – After further discussion a motion by Councilman Brown to approve minutes for June 14th, 2021 meeting, second by Councilwoman Wright. Motion carried 4-0
Citizens Comments– None
Accounts Payable and Financial reports – After further discussion a motion was made by Councilwoman Wright Gainer to approve and pay all bills except Wagner’s Tire, second by Councilman Wagner. Motion carried 4-0. Councilman Brown motions to pay Wagner’s Tire, second by Councilman Mayhew. Motion carried 4-0.
Presidio Presentation- PRPC & MRC Members, Terry and CeeCee Kelley gave a presentation on Spanish Colonial Heritage Day, an event that they would like for The City to be an Official Partner with. It was discussed with Council and is awaiting the Motion at the next Regular Meeting.
Budget Workshop – August 3rd, 2021 at 5:30pm
Regular Meeting will be scheduled for August 9th, 2021 at 5:30pm.
Emergency Management Report – Jeff Whitson spoke on behalf of the Menard County Office of Emergency Management and gave us a review of their monthly report.
City Administrator’s Report – Mr. Kerns reported a number of Water Leaks have been fixed. We have been continuing to patch potholes and are still working on it, the Guys are doing a great job. We have also replaced all the Old or Missing Stop Signs. The Swimming Pool is still going good. We do have a leak and are planning on getting it fixed in the off season. Thanks to all of our Lifeguards, You guys are doing a great job. Landfill Permit is going along good, we have no news yet but are expecting it soon.
