The tidy little historic Catholic Church on the corner of Bevans and Canal Streets is looking festive for the Christmas holidays. Menard’s Sacred Heart Catholic Church is currently in the organizing and fundraising stages to ultimately properly renovate the building, which is currently not in daily use. 2019 MHS graduate, Morgan Wagner, graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio on Tuesday, December 13 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She has accepted a job at the Texas Attorney General’s office beginning January 3. Morgan is the daughter of proud parents, Kayla and Tyler Wagner and grandparents Renee Zimmerman, Keith and Judi Crisp, and the late Willard Wagner. Courtesy Photo.

HORSING AROUND: Left-Madalyn Murr and her horse Poncho competed in the Concho County Young Riders play day series. She was awarded a custom headstall at the finals. Madalyn is the granddaughter of Sheriff Buck and Carla Miller, Ray and Gayla Murr, and the great grandaughter of (the late) Horsefly and Elsie Murr.
