Filing period for prospective candidates to submit their application for a place on the Republican Party ballot or the Democrat Party ballot for the Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 Joint Primary Election runs from Saturday, November 13, 2021 through Monday, December 13th, 2021 at 6p.m.

Local offices up for election in 2022 include:
County Judge, District & County Clerk, County Treasurer, County Commissioners Precincts 2 & 4, Justice of the Peace, Republican & Democrat Party Chairs & Precinct Chairs.
Signup has already begun for precinct chairs and runs through December 1st. The election day for precinct chairs will be on the Primary 2022 runoff ballot if there are any contested races. There will be an additional signup period after Jan 1st, 2022 for Precinct Chairs.

The Menard County Republican Party Executive Committee will meet Sunday November 7th, 2021 at 3:00p.m. in the County Courtroom at the Courthouse. Prospective local candidates for the 2022 Republican Primary are encouraged to attend.
Democrat County Chair Chad Phillips will announce meeting plans at a later date.
