The Hill Country Cattle Women held a delicious hamburger lunch for the students at the Hill Country Youth Ranch, a non-profit organization that provides a safe, loving and life-enhancing Christian environment for children and young adults who have suffered severe trauma from abuse or neglect. During the lunch the Cattlewomen gave a presentation on the nutritional benefits of beef and the history of cattle ranching. Bags full of recipes, coloring books and other goodies were given compliments of the Texas Beef Council. The students were also provided information about the Hill Country Cattlewomen’s Scholarships for Trade and Academic schools. Everyone was exceptionally engaged in the information that was provided and actively participated in the discussion. The lunch concluded with a presentation of a $500 gift certificate from Hill Country Cattlewomen for the purchase of Beef from Dutchman’s Market in Fredericksburg to help stock the Youth Ranch pantry for the winter.
