Kelsey LeRoy Branaman, 82, of Menard, Texas passed on February 24, 2025 at his home on the Whitehead Ranch.

Kelsey was born February 28, 1942 to Glen Taylor Branaman and Ottie Orene Byers in Lubbock, TX; and grew up in Van Horn, TX.

He married Louise Swanner on September 9, 1971 in Clovis, NM. Kelsey was a proud veteran who served in Vietnam as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps.

Kelsey was a Cowboy. He worked on the Whitehead Ranch for 50 years; Cowboying was his calling. He was honorable and kind, and loved his family like no other. His absence will be felt forever.

Kelsey is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Travis, Doug and Deon Branaman and one sister, Darlene Greenup.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lou; children, Ray Welch, Vanessa (John) Finney; Cherry (Cody) Swindall; grandchildren, John Cody (Leighann) Cardenas, Aressa Branaman, Dalton (Kaci) Walker and Taylor (Ricky) Twombly; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, JoElla (David) Wooten, Venida (Tom) Farr, Joy (Jay) Waller and Jan Springfi eld; and many, much loved, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held March 1, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Menard; interment followed at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Branaman, Scott Springfield, Stacy Springfield, David Greenup, Dalton Walker, and John Cody Cardenas. Honorary pallbearers are Cory Collins, James Hinkle, Ronny McGinn, and Cody Whitehead.
