Toni Abernathy Snow

Body

Toni Abernathy Snow, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. By her side was her devoted husband of 32 years, Eric Snow.

Born in San Angelo on June 11, 1941, Toni grew up in Menard, a place she held dear throughout her life. Her journey took her across Texas—from West Texas to Austin, and finally to Houston, where she spent the last 40 years surrounded by friends, family, and community.

Toni is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Tracey Dickens Smith and Courtney Dickens Johnson. She is also survived by her grandsons, Joshua Smith (wife Christine) and Justin Smith, as well as her great grandchildren, Weston and Hudson Smith and her cousin June Jordan of Menard.

A true Texan at heart, Toni loved Friday night football, championed the underdog, and had an unmatched passion for the game of Bridge. Since 1969, she played across the country, eventually earning the distinguished title of Emerald Life Master—a testament to her skill, dedication, and love for the game.

Toni was known not only for her quick wit and sparkling smile but also for her remarkable talent in crafting limericks. Over the years, she wrote and presented nearly 200 clever and heartfelt poems, celebrating the accomplishments and milestones of family, friends and fellow Bridge players. These limericks became a cherished tradition— highly anticipated, much loved, and a true reflection of Toni's creativity and humor.

Toni never met a stranger. Her warmth, energy, and boundless kindness made an impression on everyone she encountered. Her legacy lives on through the laughter she brought, the lives she touched, and the limericks that captured the spirit of a community she so deeply loved. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A memorial service is planned for May 14, 2025, at 2:30 at the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston.
