Menard River Rat Fest and Jim Bowie Day Cook-Off will be combined in 2023. The date is set for June 10, 2023. Event host, Menard County Chamber of Commerce has relocated the traditional cook-off back to the city park at the low water crossing in town. In 2022 the event was held at Stockpen Crossing Park just west of town on FM 2092.
