Memorial Day is a day of remembrance to the American lives lost in combat. Menard County has no shortage of veterans, reportedly sending the highest percentage per capita of young men into the assorted foreign battlefi elds of last century. On Veterans Day we celebrate the ones who served. On Memorial Day we remember those who never made it back.
