According to the Texas Water Development Board, the most recent drought map for conditions as of July 19 shows the largest area of the state in drought since January 2012. Extreme or worse drought, which now covers 57 percent of the state, is also at its largest extent since January 2012. We are seeing these effects in Menard County.
