It’s time for the Menard Cross Country teams to compete at district. The district contest was held in Ballinger on Wednesday, October 12, during the newspaper press time. High school girls begin their 2 miles at 1:00 p.m., with the boys initiating their 3-mile race at 1:30. Awards are scheduled for 2:20.
Menard Junior high boys’ and girls’ teams will also compete at their district meet on Wednesday. They will head to Paint Rock. Both girls and boys run 2 miles in junior high. The girls will race at 5:00 p.m., followed by the boys at 5:30, and awards at 6:20.
Head coach Nancy Saller believes her group as the potential to win the district title at all levels—junior high boys, girl, and high school boys, and girls. “The athletics have been working hard and improving times each meet,” said Saller. She predicts: “The varsity teams also have an excellent chance of to make it to the Regional meet on Tuesday, October 25 in San Angelo.”
