Skunks are responsible for the majority of Rabies spread. 

The year’s first positive rabies case in Menard County has been confirmed in a young goat. During a routine bottle-feeding approximately 2 weeks ago, a rancher 4 miles west of Menard noticed a distinct skunk odor on one of several bottle-fed dogie kid goats.
