THE BATS WERE HOT. LITERALLY - Menard and visiting baseball and softball players of elementery age enjoyed two warm days of instruction from MHS baseball coach Will Barker (back row, far right), and new MISD Athletic Director Bryson Oliver, (back row far left). The young athletes braved the heat and were rewarded at the end with sliding lessons featuring a cool wet tarp and plenty of slippery dish soap. TMN photo.
