On the evening of July 29, 2026, a loaded flatbed tractor-trailer traveling northbound overturned at the merging of US 83S and SH 29E just south of Menard due to excessive speed. No injuries were reported. DPS called in hazmat teams to tend to the unknown liquid substance spilled from a tank on the trailer.
