Jacket baseball places second in their fi rst annual Ranch Ball Tournament in Menard

    The Jackets won their first baseball game of their home tournament last weekend, on Saturday March 19, 2022.

    Game one against San Angelo Saints ended 11-2 with Menard on top. MHS senior Zadrian Zapata got the win for the Jackets, going to 2-1 on the season.

    In the final bracket, the Jackets made many errors against the Junction Eagles, losing the game and finishing in 2nd place in the first annual tournament.

    "The boys have been improving and getting better every game,” said head baseball coach Will Barker. “We have played a couple of bigger schools that have given us some good competition. I'm excited to see how they do in district."

    The Yellowjackets have a 4-3-1 record and will begin district play this Friday, March 25, against Medina at 4 p.m. in Menard at the field on Jonathan Burgess Dr.
