By Brent Bratton, MCHS President This year’s re-organization of the Menard County Historical Society is beginning to show beneficial improvements for the association. Membership in the organization is growing and several projects are now in the works. Among the activities currently underway is our annual fundraiser.
Once again the MCHS will be holding a garage sale to raise funds for the upkeep and improvement of the Menardville Museum. The event will be held on Saturday, October 22 beginning at 9:00 AM at the museum. Anyone interested in donating merchandise for the fundraiser or volunteering to help with the event should call the MCHS treasurer, Jean Wright, at 325--456-2644 or the group’s president, Brent Bratton, at 325-4561884.
We appreciate any help and welcome any interest in our organization, which is an independent institution now in its sixth decade of existence, making it the oldest continually operating historical organization in Menard County.
