Pickup burns after being parked; cause unknown

    Menard VFD and county deputies responded quickly to a vehicle fire last Friday afternoon. Just after 3 p.m. responders were dispatched to Bowie St., directly south of the Menard Elementary/Junior High cafeteria and faculty parking lot. Smoke from the engulfed F-150 pickup could be seen throughout town, causing initial distress due to the fire's close proximity to the school. ...
