Narcan now available across area agencies

    Area first responder organizations gathered last week for free Narcan training at the Menard VFD station. Narcan is a treatment now available overthe- counter used to counteract the effects of opioid overdose.

    Opioids are powerful, addictive pain medications including fentanyl, a synthetic variety, and hydrocodone which is prescribed by a physician. Heroin is also an opioid.
