Dramatic flames quickly contained at TDEM flood debris removal site

    On the evening of Saturday, March 21, 2026, Menard VFD, in conjunction with Menard County Sheriff’s Office, Hext VFD, Ft. McKavett VFD, Mason VFD and Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) all responded to a reported fire at the base operations of TDEM flood debris removal program at the Menard Airport just west of town.
