Cindy Renee Bailey was born on December 20, 1962, in Glencoe, Ohio.
Cindy passed away on August 16, 2026, in San Angelo, Texas, after complications from liver cancer. She lived a life marked by love, laughter, creativity, and a gift for making ordinary moments feel a little brighter, a little warmer, and often a little funnier than they had any right to be. Cindy was the kind of woman who could walk into a room and change the mood without even trying. She had a laugh that could pull people in, a personality that made folks feel welcome, and a way of telling life, “You may be serious, but I do not have to be.”
She was loving, creative, and funny, and those three words fit her as naturally as her favorite pair of shoes. She had a sharp sense of humor and a heart big enough to hold everyone she loved, even when they were being a little too much, which, like most families, happened often enough to keep things interesting. For 25 years, Cindy worked as a waitress and also managed a couple of places along the way. She knew how to keep things moving, how to handle a busy shift, and how to do it all with style and a little wit. She understood people, and people understood her. She had the rare ability to make hard work look easy, even when the day was long and the coffee was stronger than the patience. In every place she worked, she brought not only skill and dedication, but also a personality that customers remembered and coworkers appreciated. She knew how to serve a meal and serve a joke at the same time, which is a talent not everyone can claim.
Cindy was a Christian, and her faith was part of the foundation of her life. It guided her through joy and hardship alike, and it gave her strength in the moments when strength was needed most. She lived with a spirit that reflected kindness, resilience, and grace. Even when life handed her difficult chapters, she kept showing up with love and determination, which was one of her greatest strengths.
Above all else, Cindy loved being around her children, her grandchildren, her niece and nephews and her animals. Time with her family was where she felt most at home, and she cherished every laugh, every visit, and every story told around the table. She especially enjoyed her daughters, Christy Bailey, Kami Bailey, and Casie Jackson, and she held close the bond she shared with her brother, Micheal Sherman, and her sister-in-law, Melissa Sherman. She was a proud grandmother to Tristan, Emily, Kadance, Karson, Jaidaven, Anessa, and Cayson, and each of them brought her joy in their own special way. She also loved her nephew, Philip Doty, her niece, Karla Poindexter, and her great nephews, Adam, Rand, and Colby. Her family was a source of laughter, love, and the kind of beautiful chaos that makes a house feel alive.
Cindy also had a deep love for painting, fishing, and gardening, and gardening was her favorite thing. She found peace in creating beauty with her hands, whether through color on a canvas or life in the soil. She had an eye for creativity and an appreciation for the simple things that grow when cared for with patience. In many ways, she approached life the same way. She nurtured what mattered, she made things bloom, and she left beauty behind wherever she went. Those who knew Cindy will remember her as a woman with a generous heart, a quick wit, and a laugh that could sneak up on you when you needed it most. She had the kind of humor that made even difficult days more manageable. She could be funny without trying, and sometimes that is the best kind of funny. She was the sort of person who could tell a story, make a point, and still have everyone smiling by the end of it. She did not just live life. She gave it personality.
Cindy Renee Bailey will be remembered with love by all who were blessed to know her. Her life was a reflection of devotion to family, faith, hard work, and the kind of humor that makes memories last. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the beauty she created will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be missed deeply, remembered fondly, and spoken of often with the smile she so often inspired.
