Edith Ann Nasr, age 90, of Austin and formerly Menard, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Austin, Texas. Edith was born on October 31, 1935, in Menard, Texas, to Henry Hawthorn Harrison and Henrietta (Winslow) Harrison. She grew up in Menard and graduated from Menard. She married Sam Nasr on January 30, 1962, in Austin. Edith had a magnetic personality. She was a tough woman with no fear and a never give up attitude. People loved to be around her because of her helpful, positive, happy demeanor. She enjoyed traveling and being around nature. She loved animals and was regularly taking in birds, turtles, racoons, rabbits, and any other critter that needed cared for. She was a good provider and taught her children a solid work ethic. She was also very artistic. She enjoyed painting and drawing.
She also had an enterprising spirit. She operated “Collectible Connections” and “Something for Everyone.” She also taught ceramics out of her home.
She has lived in Austin for nearly seventy years and was a longtime member of the St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin. Funeral services for Edith Ann Nasr will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at St. James Episcopal Church in Ft. McKavett. Interment will follow at Ft. McKavett Cemetery. Edith is survived by her sons Timmy Nasr and wife Krista, Joseph Nasr, and Sammy Nasr and wife Kristen; daughters Johnnie Melvin and husband Terry and Annetta Caldwell and husband Ryan; grandchildren Aly, Seth, Devin, Kelsey, Emma, Aric, Sarah, Hannah, Sam, Abby, Rachel, Rebecca, Joshua, Sebastian, Rhea, and Ajla; great-grandson Sleyton; several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Hank Harrison, Jack Harrison, and Bill Harrison.
