Laurie Glossbrenner Harrington

Body

Laurie Alain Glossbrenner Harrington, 52, passed from our lives on September 14, 2024. Born in San Angelo on August 14, 1972, Laurie grew up spending many weekends and summers with her grandparents in Menard. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1990 and attended Angelo State University and University of North Texas. A gifted artist and writer, Laurie's adventurous spirit led her to live in Key West and Orlando, Florida, then in London, England, where she worked in marketing for Holland and Holland.

Settling in Dallas, Laurie developed a career in IT sales management at McAfee. There she met Brian Harrington, whom she married on April 2, 2005. Sadly, Brian suffered serious injuries in a car accident in 2010 and passed away in 2011.

Following the loss of Brian, Laurie moved to Austin, where she worked for IBM in market development and data analytics and began a career coaching business. Her eye for vintage clothing and jewelry later led her to build a successful resale business as a top Poshmark seller. Laurie loved traveling and attending cultural events with friends. She was widely respected for her intelligence, creativity, kindness, unique sense of style, appreciation for fine art and literature, quirky sense of humor, and rapier-sharp wit.

Laurie is survived by her parents, Carolyn Everett Glossbrenner and Jim and Dana Glossbrenner of San Angelo; her sister, Kim (Mark) McCauley; and nephews Alex and Aaron of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Stepsiblings Jana Hall of Orange Grove, Texas; and David Noland of Hoboken, New Jersey and their families, and numerous cousins and lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Brian Harrington; grandparents Allan and Willie Lee Everett; Earl and Betty Glossbrenner; uncle Pat Everett of Menard, Texas; and her beloved dogs, Miller, Joe, Marilyn, Maggie, and Fiona.

An open-house celebration of Laurie's life will take place June 21, 2025, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in The Speakeasy room at the Cactus Hotel in San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to Concho Valley PAWS or Christ Church of Austin.

Laurie's family is grateful for the support of our friends and extended family as we grieve her loss and cherish her memory.
