The Menard High School Cross Country team competed for the first time this season at the Eldorado Stride for the Divide meet last Wednesday, August 21.
Sophomore Danni Ruiz claimed first place in the girls’ 2-mile race with a time of 13min.30 sec. The second-place runner was almost 8 seconds behind her. Freshman Taytum Chambless battled for the bronze medal, beating the fourth-place race.
