Seniors Cado Bannowsky and Zeke Hernandez were treated to a lights-and-sirens sendoff Wednesday morning on theior way to their second boys doubles tennis state meet in San Antonio. They were bronze medalists last year. The duo has a first round bye and their first game will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals. If they win that match, they will advance to the semis on Friday and play at 9:15 a.m.

The Region II 1-A track and field meet was held over the weekend in Abilene and Menard emerged with two state qualifiers in 4 events.
