On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, Menard County Deputy Ty Gerstenberger was ending his shift, travelling east on Highway 190 towards Brady. At approximately 4:47 p.m., Gerstenberger witnessed a white Chevrolet pickup headed west, toward Menard, allegedly drifting across the median line.
