On Thursday, March 31, 2022, at approximately 7:43 p.m., Menard County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Smith initiated a traffic stop on a Cheverolet Silverado pickup truck with Colorado license plates. The pickup was speeding, and the stop occurred about 7 miles south of Menard on Highway 83.
