Lisabeth (Liz) Rae Rabun Belinoski was born on February 6, 1966, 5 minutes after her twin, Laura Lea Rabun Almond in San Angelo, Texas. Their parents were Clyde (Ray) Rabun and Janet Matthews Rabun.
“The Rabun Twins” grew up in Menard, Texas. In 3rd grade the family attended the local high school graduation ceremony. It was then that Liz learned what a valedictorian was, and on that day, she announced that she was going to be our class valedictorian. In May of 1984 she realized that goal. Liz went to Texas Tech for a year and a half and then joined Laura at Texas A&M. They graduated in the same ceremony December of 1988. After a few years of ¬finding her way with a career Liz gave the Houston Police Department Academy a shot. She did not become an officer but she did acquire a husband. Mike and Liz were married in August of 1992.
Liz swore she would never be a teacher— especially in junior high. So, God saw it¬ fit to lead her to become a teacher at Arnold Junior High in Cypress Fairbanks ISD for 20 years.
In 2000 Mike and Liz became parents to David Michael. Initially the idea being a “boy mom” was a bit of a shock for Liz, but she embraced her baby boy and became his cheerleader. Liz had a special relationship with her niece, Sarah Orr. They shared a love for Tom's shoes and all things Taylor Swift.
The family moved to Llano in 2017 upon Mike’s retirement from H.P.D. Liz worked for Cherokee ISD for one year, but then God prepared us for all new Possibilities. In 2019 Liz and Laura opened a resale store in Llano. Possibilities has become an amazing destination in Llano due to, in very large part, Liz’s tireless efforts mostly behind the scenes.
Liz passed away on September 9, 2021 from complications of COVID. Her time of death was 10:38, which was Mom’s birthday - October 1938. Liz was involved in several Llano activities. She enjoyed working the sound board for Journey Fellowship and for Llano Lantex Theatre. She also was on the Board of Directors for Llano Community Theatre and a member of our local Main Street Advisory Board. A memorial is scheduled for Saturday, September 25th from noon to 4:00 p.m., at Journey Fellowship in Llano, Texas.
