Katherine received her nursing degree at Menard Vocation School of Nursing and dedicated her life to the service of her family and the patients of Menard County. She worked at the Menard Hospital for a number of years in charge of surgery, central supply, infant nursery and general nursing. When a new physician came to Menard to set up practice, the hospital always chose Katherine to help set up the practice. She worked in the home health field for 25 years, helping to establish the Menard Home Health Services at the Menard Hospital. In 1992, she assisted in establishing Home Health Services of Mason, Kimble and Menard, Incorporated. She assisted in keeping medical services within the Menard area. She set up blood pressure clinics at the Senior Center, so patients could get their blood pressures checked regularly. She also held monthly birthday parties for the residents of the Menard Manor. Katherine was a fantastic cook and she served many Thanksgiving meals for nurses in the community and the elderly, who had no family with which to spend the holidays. She loved the Lord and offered the love of Christ in her work and in her home. Katherine loved to listen to Allan Jackson's Precious Memories. She will be dearly missed by many.

The family would like to thank the Kimble County Hospital, Menard Manor and the Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care of our Mother, Katherine.
