Jimmie Bray of Menard was called home to be with God, and his wife, Tuesday May 16, 2023. He had Alzheimer’s for over 10 years. He was born June 7, 1939, to Jimmie and Lily Mae Bray in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He had lived in Menard since 1990. He was happily married to Jodie for 59 years. They were not only high school sweethearts but junior high sweethearts. Jimmie’s life was always centered around his wife and children. He loved to travel around the world and lived in several different countries. He loved being a Mason. He was raised to a Master Mason in the Blue Lodge in Singapore. Dual membership with the Grand Lodge of Texas and Grand Lodge of England. He received his 50-year pin October 2022. He also received the Golden Trowel Award June 2004 in Menard, an award for exceptional service. He was also a Shriner. He loved working on cars, carving, traveling, raising blue eared goats, and music.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents Jimmie and Lily Mae Bray, wife, Joan “Jodie” Bray, Butch Bray, and Nancy Bearman. Jimmie is survived by his children, Jimmie Bray II, of Brady, Jeffrey Bray and wife Kerry of Flower Mound, Jonea Bray Henslee and husband Ricky of Gainesville, four grandchildren, Joal Garner, Jarrid Garner, Josh Garner, and Journey Bray, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday, May 22, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home in Menard.

Graveside service was held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 22, 2023, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard with Ron Davis officiating.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Menard.
