JoAnn “Jody” Jackson

Body

JoAnn “Jody” Jackson 58 of Menard, Texas passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024. She was born July 21, 1965, in San Angelo to Elmer “Pete” Ernest Leverett and Vera Jewell Webb Leverett of Menard. She was the fifth of six children. She lived most of her life, and raised her two sons, Wes and Joe, in Menard. She held many different jobs ranging from convenience store clerk to mail delivery. She married her soul mate Keith Jackson on September 8, 2007, at the American Legion in Menard. At this time, her family grew from a family of three to a family of seven. Jody never made her soul mate’s daughters feel like stepdaughters. She was able to become a homemaker and took advantage of the time to spend with her children and grandchildren. One week a summer she would host a family gathering at their house for all her children and grandchildren. At the beginning of the school year, she would buy school supplies and clothes for their grandchildren. These where her favorite times of the year. Jody had so many hobbies it is hard to name them all, so here are a few of them: quilting, gardening, canning, cooking, crocheting, and knitting. She loved her visits with her youngest son Joe. Jody was recently blessed with the news that her oldest son, Wes, will be a father. She was over the moon happy with this news and immediately started making blankets and booties for the newest grandchild, which she did finish before her passing. She loved her family, if you ever needed anything you could call her for help. Jody is preceded in death by her parents Vera Jewell and Elmer “Pete” Leverett, brother Larry Dean Leverett, and sister Sherry Cartwright.

Jody is survived by her soul mate and husband, of 16 years, Keith Jackson of Menard, sons Wesley “Wes” Leverett of Napa Vine, Washington, and Joseph “Joe” Davis of Menard, four daughters of her heart Beth Ann (Leon) Williams of Brady, Bobbie Lynn Jackson of Mercury, Brittany Louise (Brad) Palmer of Lovington, New Mexico, and Brooke Marie Jackson of San Antoino, grandchildren Jimmy, Layla, Barber, Lilly, Landan, Leland, Ollie, Troy, Braxton, Rae, and River, sisters Debra Wallace of Menard, Donna (John) Braly of Menard, brother-in-law Chuck Cartwright of Norton, sister Elizabeth (Michael) Rachels of Lost Valley Curtis, Washington, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
