Jo Ella Castleberry, 66, of Menard, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. Jo Ella was born in Brady, Texas, to Joe and Robbie Baker of Menard, Texas, on September 7, 1958. Jo Ella was such a bright light. She devoted her life to raising her three boys, working many years at CCA Eden Detention Center. Jo Ella loved the time she worked for the Roll family. When she was not working, she was having fun. She attended weekly dinners, Sunday church and Bingo with her sister Diane. She enjoyed the company of her friends and family. But she lit up when she was with her grandchildren. Going to games, birthday parties; you name it, she was there. All thirteen grandchildren held such a special piece of her heart. Jo Ella was a kind soul who loved everybody. She never met a stranger. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services for Jo Ella Castleberry were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Menard, officiated by Brother Grady Arnold. Interment followed at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard. The family received friends Tuesday morning, prior to services, at the church.
