Amalio Domeli Ramon Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in Menard. Amalio was born on December 1, 1948, in Fort McKavett, Texas, to Hisidoro Ramon and Maria (Domeli) Ramon. He grew up in Menard. He married Elida Constancia on July 24, 1970, in Menard.
A hardworking man with a strong and steady spirit, Amalio began his working life shearing sheep across the region during his younger years. He later dedicated many years to the City of Menard before joining Metco, where he worked as a cement truck driver. To his coworkers and friends, he was known for his reliability, humility, and unwavering work ethic.
Outside of work, Amalio embraced life’s simple joys. He loved fishing along the San Saba River, tinkering with projects around his home, and spending time with his family. He was all about his family, his kids, and grandkids. Above all, his greatest comfort came from reading his Bible. His faith anchored him, guided him, and shaped the gentle, humble man so deeply loved by many. He was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Menard. Amalio remained deeply connected to the community he cherished, making his lifelong home in Menard. He will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched. His memory lives on in the stories he shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so generously.
Amalio’s wishes were for his remains to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Friends may view and/or sign Amalio’s online memorial guest book at www. leatherwoodmemorialchapels.
