David Alfred Parker, 71 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2022 in his home in Menard, Texas. David was Born in Menard to Elvis A. Parker and Peggy Frazier-Parker on July 16, 1951.
David is survived by his children: Daughter Shelly Valdez, her Spouse Alex Valdez. Son Allen Parker, his spouse Monica Parker. Daughter Debbie Durden, her spouse Jimmy Durden. Son Spencer Parker, his spouse Katie Parker.
Grandchildren: Aaron Valdez, Adam Valdez, Cheyene Hernandez, Cito Hernandez, Zack Parker, Regan Shockley, April Isnhower, Clint Isnhower, Courtney Cardenas, Nick Cardenas, Zayne Durden, Evan Parker, Toni Parker-Hamm, Riley Abernathy, Johnny Abernathy. Great grandchildren: Kendree, Landri, Lucas, Harlee, Harper, Tatum. Brother: Phillip Parker. Sister: Phyllis Wimberly, her spouse Bill Wimberly. Mother-in-law: Mary Holland. Sister-in-law: Lori Watson and spouse BJ Watson.
David is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon Gayle Parker; his father Elvis Parker, mother Peggy Parker, and Sister Karen Poss. David married the love of his life in San Angelo, Texas on July 4, 1970. David and Sharon moved to Menard, Texas in 1979 and made their home there until his passing. David worked as a certified diesel mechanic for almost 40 years. He served 30+ of those years working at Western Auto/Tanner Auto Supply/Napa. Those he served loved him unconditionally.
One of David’s greatest pleasures was going on motorcycle rides with his family and friends, attending bike rallies. He rode hard and he rode fast. David was a Volunteer fireman in Menard County for many years, and continued to be an honorary fireman. He loved cooking outdoors and was known for his bar-B-que. He also loved spending time with his family. He was the Greatest PaPa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. David was loved and will be greatly missed by so many. There will be a memorial service as well as Celebration of Life set at a later date.
