David Paul Kerns passed away in his sleep on April 17,2023 at his home in Nome, Alaska.
David was born on July 6, 1969 in Mason, Texas.
He was raised in Menard, Texas and graduated from Menard High School in 1987. While in Menard he enjoyed High School and was active in school activities, especially Band an U.I.L.
David attended San Angelo State for two years where he played in the marching band.
After leaving college he enlisted in the U. S. Army where he spent two years in Germany serving as a Medic. David moved back to Menard after the Army where he started a family and volunteered on the Menard Ambulance service as an EMT and later a Paramedic.
David then moved to Raton, New Mexico where he served on the Fire Department as a Paramedic.
He then moved to Crowell Tx, where he enrolled in Vernon College and obtained his R.N. License.
David found his true calling as a traveling nurse. It gave him an opportunity to travel throughout the country. At the time of his demise, he was living' His Best Life'. Between contracts, David loved to travel and spend time with his family. David was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Kerns, and older brother, Steve Kerns. He is survived by two brothers, Scott and wife Jodi Kerns and family of Brady, and Don and wife Stephanie and family of Menard.
Also surviving are a daughter, Shelby and husband Brandon Lagunas, grandchildren Mia Lagunas, Ameafayth Parker, Levi Walter Lagunas, and Mallorie Lagunas, and one son, Daulton Kerns.
Burial will be at a family plot in Cavness Cemetery near Mason, Texas on June 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
Pastor Grady Arnold will be officiating.
