Suzanne Brantley, age 85, passed from this life and entered into the gates of Heaven on Thursday, August 4, 2022, in San Angelo.
Suzanne was born on December 8, 1936, in Lolita, Texas, to Walter and Mary (Laughter) Frels. She met the love of her life, Paul Brantley, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where they were both serving their country. They were united in marriage on October 5, 1957, in the base chapel and spent almost 65 years in life, love, laughter, and serving the Lord.
Suzanne and Paul moved to Menard in 1998, where they became active in the community and in the First United Methodist Church there, where she served as Pastor for 8 ½ years. She served the Lord with all her heart and was very involved in coordinating and speaking at the Walk to Emmaus events. During her time doing that, she touched countless people's lives and was thought of fondly for how she ministered to them during her work in the Emmaus Community. In her retirement, she served as an Interim Pastor for several communities in Central and West Texas. She also was a member of the DAR, DRT, the Library Club, and the Child Welfare Board in Menard. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Don Frels. Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband, Paul Brantley; one son, John Brantley and his wife Deborah; one brother, Pierce Frels; two grandchildren, Joseph and Jonathan Brantley; two greatgrandchildren, Vivien and Samuel Brantley; and host of extended family, friends, and church family.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Menard.
